    Hi Blonde Abroad,
First of all, the pictures are wonderful!
But I live on The Big Island (Hawai’i) and you stated it is the most urban of the islands, industry is growing, and less greenery than other islands. This sounds much more like Oahu (Honolulu County). The Big Island is extremely rural with only a few towns of any real size and absolutely nothing that would even remotely qualify as urban. And the east side of the island is pure rainforest, from north to south. There is abundant greenery, heavy jungle even. Anyway, I enjoyed the article but the entry on the Big Island is seemingly confused with the island with by far the highest population, Oahu.
Be well and hope you can continue your travels this year 🙂
    Aloha
