Hello – I’m a single mom looking to plan to a trip by myself in 2019 so this article was very helpful! I would really love to visit Bacalar, Akumal (or Cozumel), and Isla Holbox but I’m not sure how to go about planning a trip like this. Ideally, I’d like to have a budget-friendly vacation. What would my first step be in the planning process? I’ve never traveled anywhere alone so right now everything seems overwhelming!

    • Hey babe! Have you had a look at this post? https://theblondeabroad.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-solo-female-travel/

Thanks BB for this informative look at Tulum!! and your 2 cents on Safety!

Trying to get my son’s girlfriend to join from Greece, but her parents are worried and won’t let her go due to the recent killings near Mexico City (So Sad)

Leaving in a week with family for the first time, and looking forward to following your footsteps.

    QQ:

1). Is Turtle Snorkeling legit this time of year?
2). Do you know of any under the radar guides to hire for Fly Fishing. Our group is experienced?

Anyhoo, Cheers! You’re writing is refreshing and your persona is equal to the beauty of the Yucatan.

Hi Tom, have an amazing time there!

I wish I could tell you but you’ll have to ask around about turtle snorkeling + best places during this time of year – locals might have a better idea about migration patterns and whatnot. I haven’t done fly fishing myself, so I’m not sure on that front either! I’d Google and see what you can find.

Best of luck and I wish you a wonderful trip!
