This is by far the hardest and most personal update I’ve ever had to share. 💔
Two weeks ago, our sweet Oliver (who just turned 2 at the end of June) was diagnosed with a brain tumor—specifically, an optic pathway glioma. We are heartbroken, scared, and doing our best to stay strong for him.
Despite this unimaginable diagnosis, Oliver is in great hands with a team of oncologists, neurologists and ophthalmologists. He has already had 2 rounds of immunotherapy, with no side effects (thankfully), but we have a very long road ahead of us.
We are currently fighting to save his vision, and will likely move to a 15-month chemotherapy treatment in the new year to continue to shrink the tumor.
I will share more about his diagnosis and treatment in stories and will do my best to keep everyone updated throughout this journey.
We kindly ask that you avoid sending a DM unless your child or someone you know is facing the same condition. We are desperate to connect with other families undergoing treatment for the same diagnosis and an influx of DMs could mean we miss an important message.
We truly appreciate the outpouring of love and support from everyone and are reading every comment—your kind words mean so much to us right now.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for loving our little boy, and for your support during this incredibly difficult time. 🙏💙
