    Hi!

I am heading to Iceland the last week of September and had a couple of questions:
1: Was it hard to find campsites in the winter? I’ve read most close around September 15, and I didn’t know if you could still use the sites, just without all the conveniences. We will be in a campervan as well.
2: Do you know of any tricks or deals to get a cheaper deal on campervans? .
    3. How necessary is four-wheel drive? We don’t plan on off roading or going into the highlands (will only be there for a week), but didn’t know if it was needed for weather conditions or if winter tires would suffice.

Thank you! And any tips/ helpful tricks would be greatly appreciated!

    • Hey Hannah! Campsites do close, however we were there in October and most were still open so it may depend on their weather conditions– any later in the year, you risk a lot of roads also being closed down due to storms and snow. The only campsite that had closed restrooms was in Arnarstapi.

The car rental would definitely depend on the time of year– the rental companies would know best 🙂

Hello! My husband and I are considering doing a campervan in Iceland for our honeymoon. I’m not sure the best way to ask this, but we’re just not sure if staying in a campervan when it is highly recommended to stay at ‘official campsites’ (right?) is worth it – is it still better than staying in a hotel/b&b if we can’t be right up close and personal to a waterfall? Thank you!

    • Hi Maria, I loved seeing the island via camper van, but it can be very close quarters and cramped, so I’d recommend booking a few nights in B&Bs to stay comfortable 🙂 Typically the campsites have showers, but you can’t free camp anywhere, and if you are able to camp near a waterfall it would be in a parking lot.

Being a mama in today’s digital world is... stressful. Even though my little one, Oliver, is still a toddler, I already think about how I’ll navigate social media and screen time as he grows up. It’s such a different world than when we were kids, so having the right tools and info is so important!

That’s why I attended the META Screen Smart event. I wanted to learn everything about how we can not only build healthy screen habits for our kids and teens but also what tools META provides us parents—and let’s just say, there are a ton!

Some of these include:

Parental controls that let you set screen time limits
Content filters
Tech-free scheduled times
Monitor what your kids are seeing

This was such a fun event with META panelists, professional speakers, and everyday parents just trying to figure out how to navigate this ever-changing tech world.

Thank you, @instagram, for hosting me and sharing so much valuable insight 💡
