  1. Sounds like an amazing time! And let me know if you’d like to grab coffee while you’re in Paris, I’d be happy to show you around 🙂

I had such a quick stop over (plus a run in with the flu) in Paris otherwise I would have loved to!

That’s funny not really but we there in paris on may 7 2013 and my daughter and granddaughter got the stomach flu as well.,it must have been going around. Thank goodness I did not get it.

  2. Some train routes I’ve found to be economical, but most of the train travel through Europe that I have done has been pricey. Like Lisbon to Madrid was 100 euro when I was looking. I’ve found budget airlines seem to be better in some cases. Have you ever heard of Europe By Air? I got tickets from Dubrovnik to Athens for a total of $90 or less on Croatia Airlines. I don’t exactly remember, but it was much cheaper than the $500 plus when trying to book through airline websites or Orbitz.

I’ve only ever flown! So yes I totally know what you mean. I’ve flown RyanAir and EasyJet and all those budget airlines more times than I can count. But so far the train travel has been good! I’ll be doing a post on price comparison on European travel to see which is more inexpensive in the end 🙂

I highly recommend staying a night or 2 at @themanor_house in The Cotswolds.

It’s located in the tiny, picturesque village of Castle Combe—one of my favorite stops of our trip.

We had the entire village to ourselves early in the morning and at sunset which was so magical!
