    Hey Naomi! Glad that you enjoyed the article! By all means this can be done short term! Especially at this time, during the holidays, when a lot of homeowners need someone just for a few weeks- there are a TON of available positions for shorter amounts of time!

    Also, if you are interested in housesitting, you don’t HAVE to do it abroad- you may find a good gig close to home! You can even do this type of thing as a weekend getaway in some cases if there is a listing nearby! If you are looking for something closer to home, you can use the housesitting site search engines to filter available jobs by location.

    If a homeowner is taking a short trip somewhere, then that equals a short-term opportunity for you! You will still have the benefit of comfortable and free accommodation , and also have a way to build your credibility and references! I think that short-term sitting is a great option, and I see postings for these opportunities all of the time in the http://www.trustedhousesitters.com search.
