Calling all road tripping, adventure-loving families! 📢

I recently went on a 10-day New England road trip and @rivianofficial loaned me a second-generation R1S to see the fall foliage—it was everything I dreamed of and more.

I planned this trip for months in advance and we were putting in some serious miles. We ended up tallying nearly 1000 miles and did it all in under three charges—all for free at our hotels along the way!

Between the front truck that worked as a mud room on rainy days to the glass roof that allowed us to see the fall foliage from all 7 seats, we were truly in Autumn heaven!

If you’re a road-trip-loving family like us, I highly recommend the Rivian R1S for your ultimate adventure EV!

Hello autumn 👋🍁
Welcome to New England! 🍁🦞

This is Day 1 of our 10-Day New England Fall road trip with a toddler series! I’ll be sharing everything we planned, loved, and skipped (but would be worth visiting with more time)!

We started the trip by checking into @thepresshotel in Portland, Maine—you can’t beat the location. We mostly stuck to exploring the Old Port and walkable destinations.

A huge part of any Portland tip is the food!

We managed to enjoy @holydonutmaine (made from potatoes!) and @highrollerlobsterco—of which I both HIGHLY recommend.

TIP: You can make a to-go order for High Roller online to avoid the massive queue — 10/10 recommend the 4oz lobster roll with lobster ghee and jalapeño mayo. Drool!

I would’ve loved to stop at a few more local favorites if we had more time (and space in our bellies):

🦆 @duckfatmaine

We popped our heads into one of the local fisheries and did some window shopping before Ollie’s FAVORITE activity of the day: @portlandfiretours!

You can enjoy a ride on a vintage fire truck and take in the sights and a little history of Portland and its various neighborhoods. This is a must with or without kids as you’re able to see a lot quickly!

You could also opt for a lobster boat or schooner tour—a lot of you recommended this.

And we ended the day at Portland Head Light historic lighthouse. It was commissioned by George Washington and was completed on January 10, 1791.

It’s not featured in the video, but we had dinner at @twelvemaine and it was SO good. It’s definitely fine dining, so might not be a great fit for all young kiddos, but Oliver absolutely smashed his steak!

Stay tuned for Day 2 where I’ll share one of the BEST kid-friendly stops on our entire trip (as well as a personal favorite brewery of mine! 🍻
