  1. Great tips! I agree that while you can do Southeast Asia on $20 a day, bumping your budget up to $40 day can do wonders. I traveled around the region for 7 months on $40 a day and I was able to live incredibly comfortably. The value of accommodation is pretty spectacular throughout SE Asia…it’s amazing what you can get for $20 a night! I also agree that it really pays off to book accommodation in person. You can find some incredible deals 🙂

  2. Hi there.

Nice blog. And beautiful views, beaches and the ocean, wow!

I live in Spain but I am also thinking of going to Asia for holidays. However, I am a bit worried. I have heard it can be dangerous to do backpacking! Is it true? Shoud I consider buying “all inclusive” instead?

    Thanks kris

    • Hey there Kris!

Thanks so much! I found Southeast Asia to be incredibly safe as a solo female backpacker and had no problem finding my way, as there were tons of other travelers there! I definitely would avoid an all-inclusive trip there, or at least, do part of the trip on your own 🙂

You can also find details on my tips for travel safety on my travel forum found here: https://theblondeabroad.com/faq-travel-community-forum/ If you don’t find the answer to your question, please feel free to post a new thread.

Thanks and looking forward to answering your questions on the forum!
