My husband and I will be arriving there July 13 (my birthday!) and staying 3 days. What attire would you recommend for the leisure time after the game drives and also the dinner attire?
We’re in our 50s …want to look nice but comfy, and prob dress up in the evenings? Not sure. Thanks!

      Hi Victoria,

Happy (almost) birthday!! Temperatures typically are pretty moderate in July (even though it is winter!), so bring a few warm things just in case. I think some linen-type or cotton pants and flowy dresses + jumpsuits would be perfect—especially because you can layer and dress these up or down.

Here are a few of my picks:

thanks so much. We’re from So CA so we’re used to mild winters but it looks like it gets colder there than here in July.
We’ll also be starting the trip in Cape Town, which is the total opposite weather wise…so much for trying to packing light! lol

    Hi there!

I was wondering if you had any recommendations for more affordable safari lodges and places to stay in South Africa.

    Thanks heaps 🙂

I highly recommend staying a night or 2 at @themanor_house in The Cotswolds.

It’s located in the tiny, picturesque village of Castle Combe—one of my favorite stops of our trip.

We had the entire village to ourselves early in the morning and at sunset which was so magical!

I took a spontaneous trip with my friend to the countryside of England and it was everything I dreamed it would be!

The Cotswolds feel like stepping back in time with historic villages and adorable cottages). While these places might seem similar at first glance, each village was actually quite unique. These are some of the cutest villages we visited:

- Castle Combe
- Bourton-on-the-Water
- The Slaughters
- Stow-on-the-Wold
- Broadway
- Snowshill
- Bibury

Some amazing villages and towns not featured but also worth visiting include:

- Broadway
- Burford
- Daylesford & Daylesford Farms
- Chipping Campden
- Cirencester

Are The Cotsworlds on your bucket list?
