What are the requirements to run with the bulls? especially if you’re a foreigner? are there tips on what to do or not do? have to sign a waiver? guess i would need to make sure i have health insurance…lol…gotta bring my Cigna card….hehe

    • The Blonde Abroad

No requirements to run! Just balls (not literally lol) Just be respectful of the culture and customs. Typically on the morning of the first run everyone has stayed out all night drinking and shows up at 7am still drenched in Sangria. Traditionally, women are not supposed to run, but they do. No waivers. Run at your own risk. My only advice is that it’s not the bulls to worry about, it’s rather that you avoid getting caught in the crowd, tripping and getting trampled. I didn’t actually run but that seems to be the most common advice.

Could you explain more of your experience of the bullfighting and why you didn’t like it? Are their certain events you wouldn’t recommend?

    • Hey babe! It has to do with the ethics of bullfighting and animal cruelty.

🏝️ Stay at @fsmaui — The most amazing, luxurious, and family-friendly hotel! It’s located right on the beach and we spent most days lazing on beach and splashing in the pool.

🛻 Rent a “Monster Truck” — My little one, Oliver, is obsesssssed with cars so this was a huge highlight for him. We booked a Jeep in advance and they rental company let him pick the color lol.

🍨 Hawaiian Shave Ice at Ululani’s in Kihei — This is a top spot for the Hawaiian sweet treat, shave ice. Plan for a long line, but it moves quickly! If you want to try another Hawaiian staple, visit Sugar Beach Bake Shop next door for some Spam Musubi.

🥾 Trek Twin Falls — This is a super kid-friendly hike. Arrive as early as possible to beat the crowds and bring $10 cash for parking. You can hang at the lower falls or walk about 1 mile to the upper falls. Be prepared for rain and wear footwear you can get wet (like Teva sandals).

🏄‍♂️ Visit Ho’okipa Beach for Sea Turtles — Check out the views of a top surf spot and see the sea turtles lazing on the beach.

🌺 Experience a Traditional Luau—Oliver is still talking about the “fire men” from this! Most luaus on the island are family-friendly and include dinner. It’s a great cultural experience with traditional music and hula dancing!

The most amazing vacation at Four Seasons Maui at Wailea @fsmaui! 🌴
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I had heard of this property’s greatness—but experiencing is truly believing.

Nearly every family we met there was on a return visit—it’s their annual vacation year after year. And now I totally understand why!

🏝️ The Beach: This resort is located on the beach—with little waves perfect for kids!

🏊‍♂️ The Pools: If you’re coming without kiddos, the adult infinity pool here is absolutely beautiful. There are multiple pools including the Fountain Pool which we spent hours in each day.

🏨 Club Level: These top floor rooms have ocean views have a dedicated concierge lounge with complimentary continental breakfast, afternoon tea, wine & cocktails, and snack drawers with everything from granola bars to ice cream. I definitely recommend this upgrade (check my IG story highlight to see more!)

🛎️ The Amenities: Four Seasons is known for incredible service and everything at the hotel really blew me away. The have a complimentary car service that can take you anywhere in Wailea. The pools and beach all have complimentary reef-safe sunscreen stations and the rooms have after-sun cooling gel. You can book poolside spa services (they even offer keiki “toostie” foot massages for little ones!). And the list goes on and on!

🍲 The Food: The breakfast buffet here is out of this world. Imagine: Coconut pancakes with macadamia nuts and ocean views every morning. We also ate at each of the four restaurants for dinner over the course of our stay and they were all amazing.

Our week consisted of mornings at the beach, a break for nap time, and ending our days at the pool—Oliver had the time of his life!

If you’re looking for an incredibly special getaway (with or without the kids) with legendary Four Seasons hospitality, this is it!

A huge “Mahalo” to @fsmaui for the #hosted stay—we had the best time and can’t wait to return 🌺
