Intro + About the Recipe
Here is a sample format of what we’re looking for when it comes to recipe contributions.
In the intro, you can talk a little about the recipe and the background of where it’s from. Some ideas:
- Did you try this while you were visiting a certain country, on a food tour, or is it something you grew up making?
- How did you learn how to make it — was it from a cooking class, your parents, or just through trial and error?
- What does this pair well with or how do you typically serve it?
Cultural Context
Please share more about the recipe and where it’s from and how you came to learn about it!
Ingredients
Please detail the necessary ingredients here and the amount necessary — as we have a primarily US-based audience, using US standard measurements is best (though you are more than welcome to include gram conversions in parentheses)
Example:
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tablespoons of melted butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp white sugar
Recipe
Detail the instructions for the recipe. Include cooking/preparation time, oven temperature (Fahrenheit, please!), and steps involved. Please include approximately how many servings this is as well.
- Mix together the flour, sugar, and salt. In another large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and milk until slightly fluffy.
- Slowly mix in the dry ingredients and stir until smooth—making sure there are no lumps. Stir in the melted butter.
- Heat your pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil it with butter. Pour a scoop of the crepe batter (approximately 2 tablespoons—very thin!).
- Tip and rotate the pan to spread the batter evenly.
- Flip once it’s reached a golden brown color and place on a plate.
Photos
It’s crucial to have good photos to go along with the post — snaps of the process of making the dish, the final product, possibly the place you first tried it. The more the merrier!
