Thank you so so much for this blog post! I just started getting into photography. My husband and I are traveling to Portugal this Oct and I love your bag suggestions for traveling with a pro camera as well as all of your fashion tips etc! THANK YOU!

Yay, so glad you found this useful! Have the best time, Molly!

I’m looking to replace my old Canon 100D and I’ve looked into the Fujis you mention. They are indeed great, but they have a major flaw for a solo traveler: no flip screen.

Which means, you can’t take photos of yourself (unless someone helps out) and you can’t use these cameras for the occasional vlogging during your trip.

I really don’t understand why Fuji is so set against flip screens. Their cameras would have been perfect otherwise!

    • The Blonde Abroad

Hey Eleanna! I totally understand the predicament. The X-A3 actually features a screen that flips just for this purpose – so check that camera out! https://amzn.to/2XeLzLy

A number of the Fujis actually can connect to your phone (if you’ve got a smartphone) and you can use that as a remote/camera to see what you’re shooting.
