These are nice tips – although I don’t really have many of the skills you mention! A friend of mine has been away on a never-ending sabbatical and she owned her property in London so she used these guys (underthedoormat.com) to let her home short term and make the money she needed to keep going. Great work if you can get it.

Great article!!! I’m planning a 6 month trip to south east Asia in less than a year and my friend is planning longer travels for a similar time frame. This was enough to motivate us to start a travel blog! We’re hoping that by departure time we will hopefully have made enough progress to even make minimal income!!
I really think that the biggest problem with blogging is getting started! I’ve met many people who have mentioned (and some continue saying) that they want to start, but hardly anyone follows through on it! I think that for some it’s easier (and feels less frightening) to stay in your routine and with what you already know, sadly.

    • I completely agree! Starting a travel blog definitely takes a lot of commitment and time– personally, it took two years of hard work before I saw any income, and about 3 1/2 years before I was able to make it my full-time job.

      Happy travels! xx
