What to wear when traveling Egypt 🐪🗺️
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
My two “c”s to remember when packing for a trip to Egypt are cool and conservative.
Both of my trips to Egypt were in April, and even then, it was HOT. And, yes, my second trip I was VERY pregnant lol.
Summer temperatures in some cities can reach around 122°F. With that in mind, packing light fabrics like cotton and linen is best. If you’re traveling to Egypt in the cooler months, keep in mind that it gets quite chilly once the sun goes down, so make sure to pack a jacket.
As a woman traveling to a conservative country, I find it’s best to respect those cultural norms (remember, you are the visitor!), and to not draw any unwanted attention.
What does this mean for Egypt?
Opt for garments that hit below the knee, keep your shoulders covered, and the looser your clothing, the better.
Some of my packing essentials for Egypt:
•Jumpsuits & Linen Overalls
•Midi & Maxi Dresses
•Skirts & Breezy tops
•Hats

Of all of the places in the world to get some much needed R&R, Cabo, Mexico is one of my favorite retreats to escape to for pampering and luxury. And no one does it better than the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedegral! 🇲🇽
The Waldorf is known for their luxury and incredible service and their 5-star amenities make you feel like royalty:
🧖♀️ The Spa: This hotel pairs modern techniques with ancient modalities (including herbologists and intuitive healers)! They offer a range of treatments and experiences that not only make you feel relaxed, but align with the local heritage and the natural world.
🛎️ Amenities: The Waldorf is quite possibly one of the best when it comes to service. From a personalized concierge service to daily excursions, this location has everything you could possibly need!
💦 The Tortuguitas Kids’ Club: When traveling with kids, make sure you check out the kids’ club which includes family movie nights, curated programming, scavenger hunts, Spanish classes, cooking adventures; and delicious, family-friendly dining at The Beach Club.
🥑 The Food: Whether it’s in-room dining you’re after, some delicious snacks by the pool, or you want to experience some of Mexico’s BEST cuisine the Waldorf will treat your tastebuds to an experience at one of their many, on-site restaurants (and plenty of them with a view).
A weekend getaway wasn’t NEARLY enough for such a decadent stay. I can’t wait to come back again and again!
A huge thank you to @wapedregal for hosting us on our work and play getaway!

Postcards from @wapedregal 🇲🇽

Just returned from the most amazing weekend in Cabo! This was our first real vacation since Oliver’s surgery and it was so special.
Our friends joined us and the kids had so much fun splashing in the pools and exploring the property. And the mamas got to lay out and tan with a margarita in hand each day.
It felt like a real vacation—even with two toddlers IYKYK!
This property is absolutely incredible with world-class dining, epic pools with ocean views, and luxurious accommodations.
The Waldorf team went above and beyond for the kids too—decorating the room with Paw Patrol balloons, a giant cardboard rocket they could color, and surprises around every turn.
And I don’t know how, but they even made a custom coloring book for Ollie about a little cactus that had surgery and lost his vision in his right eye (just like Ollie). Needless to say I was a mess! (sharing all this to stories soon)!
Happy tears were shed and so many lovely memories were made. Thank you @wapedregal for hosting us and bringing some much needed normalcy and joy into our lives!

When in South Africa, take the scenic route 🚗🇿🇦
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The Garden Route is a scenic and ecologically diverse region in South Africa (and one of the most famous road trips in the country!). It stretches 300 kilometers (190 miles) from Mossel Bay to Storms River. It highlights some of the country’s most stunning landscapes, including epic coastlines, towering mountains, and lush forests.
You can do this road trip so many ways, but here’s my ideal itinerary, starting and ending in Cape Town:
Stop 1: Hermanus & L’Agullhas (Optional)
Start your journey in Cape Town driving from west to east. You can take a detour on your way to Mossel Bay along the coastal route. Spend 1 night In Hermanus (a cute seaside town) or L’Agullhas (the southernmost tip of Africa).
Stop 2: Gondwana Game Reserve
Mossel Bay Is the official start of the Garden Route so a safari is the perfect way to kick off your road trip. Spend 2 nights here.
Stop 3: Wilderness
Spend 1-2 nights here if you love camping, nature, and adventure activities. There’s camping, kayaking, and so much to explore.
Stop 4: Knysa
Spend 1-2 nights here — an island-dotted lagoon, perfect for sunset cruises, sailing, and water sports.
Stop 5: Plettenburg Bay
Spend a night at Emily Moon River Lodge, it’s one of my favorite properties!
Stop 6: Nature’s Valley
Check out Monkeyland Sanctuary and Birds of Eden here!
Stop 7: Storms River
Best for adrenaline junkies, this is “technically” the end of the Garden Route. Jump off the tallest bungee in the world or book a Blackwater Tubing Adventure. Stay for 1 night.
Stop 8: Jeffrey’s Bay
Why not continue the drive to end your trip on the opposite coast of South Africa at one of the top surf spots in the world? Be sure to stay 1-2 nights.
Stop 9: Oudtshoorn (Optional)
Take a different route back to Cape Town by cutting through the South African Karoo and spending a night at De Zeekoe Guest House in Oudtshoorn. Wake up at sunrise to view wild meerkats.
End: Cape Town
