This is a great article, thanks so much! I am very interested in one of the routes (like BVIs or Italy where they are the only young person flotilla) but was sailing with another company in Croatia this past summer and heard some negative feedback about TYW from other sailors/skippers, mostly about the partying bothering local residents and business owners. Do you think this is an issue? Is it maybe limited to Croatia or is something they are working to improve upon?

    • It’s definitely unique in Italy and the BVIs. I addressed the partying issue in the article under the Croatia tab, actually. There are quite a few more party yachting companies now, which is partly why party tourism in the region has grown massively. Of all the companies, I think TYW draws a more mature group of young professionals. Sure, there will be drunk, annoying d-bags on any party yacht trip, so it’s mostly up to individuals to respect the local community.

Is it possible to combine Ultra Europe next year with the yacht week, do i need to apply to the yacht experience ?

    • They have an ULTRA route ON The Yacht Week. I did it this past summer with my girlfriends. Found I wasn’t a huge fan of the whole ULTRA experience… too much electronic music for my taste. You can read my Beginner’s Guide to The Yacht Week as well, or click one of the links in the article to visit their website for more information.
