Morocco has been a dream destination for me for a long time. This year I got to visit this magical place with my good friend, Jessica, of Bon Traveler!
This country is so vibrant and full of color, everywhere we went I was amazed by the unique culture.
Our two-week trip started off in the major city of Marrakech. Here we explored the busy streets, shops, and ate to our heart’s content. We stayed for two nights at the Pinterest-worthy Riad Yasmine, and from there went to La Mamounia Hotel for two more nights.
There are so many markets in Marrakech filled with Moroccan goods– spices, rugs and beautiful clothes galore!
We woke up bright and early the next day to take a trip out to the Sahara desert with Luxury Desert Camp. After a camel ride through the dunes, we enjoyed a traditional dinner under the stars and stayed in glamping-style tent accommodations. The next night we marveled at the stunning landscapes outside our rooms at the L’Ma Lodge.

After our time in the Sahara, we traveled to Essaouira and stayed at the beautiful Villa Marco. After 2 nights in Essaouira, we headed back to Marrakech to catch the night train to Tangier.
In the morning, we took a bus from Tangier to the blue city of Chefchaouen where we stayed at Dar Baibou.
Spending just under 48 hours in Fes was just enough time, and the perfect way to end our epic adventure. I had such an incredible time, and such a unique experience, traveling through Morocco with Jessica.
Morocco is truly a must-travel destination!
Don’t miss my Morocco travel video!
Thanks so much Kiki for your inspiration and innovation! Out of all your countries covered, your Morocco blogs and videos are my favorite. Morocco remains a land not explored by me, So I review your Morocco posts to remind me of my Bucket List.
Hi Trudy! Morocco certainly is magical and it’s a great place to have on a bucket list 🙂 I hope you get to adventure the country someday!
Hi, Kiki! I’ve been following your posts since my first trip to Morocco back in 2019. I just received a grant to teach in Morocco for 10 months, departing this coming September. I’m a freelance filmmaker (obsessed with your videos), and I have a pretty specific question. I noticed in your “Exploring Morocco” highlights reel at the 1:30 mark, there’s an awesome overhead shot of you in the Sahara. I typically use a DJI Mavic Mini drone for my films but am nervous about bringing one through customs into Morocco. Do you have tips on how to legally use and/or bring a drone into Morocco? I feel like I can’t miss out on those awesome overhead shots, but I’m just scared of having it confiscated since it’s my filmmaking baby. If you didn’t get that shot by drone, I would love to know how you did!
Love, love, love your content and can’t wait to see more. Thank you in advance!
Reagan
Hi Reagan! I would 100% not recommend bringing a drone into Morocco. From what I’ve learned the hard way, drone restrictions are VERY real and taken very seriously. I’ve been held at the airport in customs for hours on end getting my drone confiscated.
