Hi Kiki, your list of packing essentials was a godsend for our trip to Tanzania (just returned). All of the other lists I browsed put function over fashion, and warned against dresses, jumpsuits, and even white shirts. But you gave me the confidence to break the rules and pack outfits that were cute, comfortable, and practical. I wore a dress nearly every night for dinner and even on a couple of drives. I even copied your ONA camera bag as my utility bag. The only thing I left off the list was a travel vest because I had no room. Thank goodness my husband packed so light, because he was stuck with packing my gorgeous straw fedora that wasn’t crushable. Looked super-cute, but in hindsight I think I would have found something crushable. Thanks so much for all the great advice!

    • Oh my goodness I love it! Sounds like you had a great time (and looked amazing)!

  2. Great post! Your packing list is super helpful and gives a clear idea of what to expect on an African safari. I love the tips on clothing choices and the importance of neutral colors. Can’t wait for my trip!

My favorite smart features of my old home! 🏠

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
