Just a ninety-minute drive from New York City, the Hamptons is a charming and oh-so-glamorous retreat on the eastern tip of Long Island, New York. This cluster of villages knows how to celebrate life with its gorgeous beaches, windmills, and exquisite sunsets.
In the Hamptons, the summer homes of the elite stand next to quirky antique shops and seafood shacks. So grab your girlfriends and bikinis—there are few girlfriend getaways more perfect than Bridgehampton.
Check into The Topping Rose House
…complimentary Lexus vehicles are included!
While in the Hamptons, go all-out and check in to the refined Topping Rose House. This historic manor and restaurant is located in Bridgehampton on the East End of Long Island.
First built in 1842 for one of the area’s most prominent judges, it was bought and restored as recently as 2010. Topping Rose has garnered a few honorary titles over the years from credited institutions, such as Condé Nast and Forbes.
The hotel offers 22 elegant rooms, spa services, event spaces, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and an impressive collection of curated art. The house also offers its guests a complimentary shuttle to nearby town attractions, as well as free rein of a Lexus courtesy vehicle whenever they choose!
Accommodation comes in eight different styles, ranging from guest rooms in the main house to the all-luxury cottage suite. If you’re tastes run to the more traditional and boutique, stay in one of the rooms; if modern chic is your game, book a cottage.
Visit Sagg Main Beach
Sagg Beach is a 1,500 stretch of sand in Sagaponack, Southampton. The vibe is young and casual and the water is perfect for swimming during summer and attracts surfers, sun loungers, and— perhaps most famously—drum circles.
Bike Through Bridgehampton
Bridgehampton is a beautiful village, and its tranquil, scenic streets make it perfect for cycling. Rent a bike at a local shop and spend the afternoon cycling past the beaches, passing and admiring antique shops and art galleries.
Cycle down Main Street and pop into high-end shops, showcasing everything from luxury fashion to exquisite jewelry. You might even spot a celebrity or two leisurely browsing the shops.
Coffee and Pastries at Pierre’s
Everyone loves a good French bakery, and in Southampton, you need to visit Pierre’s. Named after the owner, a 5th generation baker, this establishment is both hip and classic.
What’s more, it’s open 7 days a week, year-round, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now that’s a baker who loves to bake!
Of course, they don’t just serve bread and pastries here— stop by lunch for their delicious Greek parfaits, French onion soup, grilled sardines, savory tarte flambée, and escargot.
Dinnertime is when the seafood really shines—with dishes like Maine lobster fricasée, steamed mussels, Marseille Bouillabaisse, and pan-seared Daurade filet.
Shop at Gloria Jewel Boutique
Shopping is ever-popular in the Hamptons, so don’t forget to make the rounds while you’re in Bridgehampton. The legendary Gloria Jewel was named after the owner’s two grandmothers, Gloria and Jewel.
Here you’ll find it all—cute autumn knits, satin intimates, pastel skirts for spring, and fancy swimwear for summer!
Wolffer Estate Vineyard
Rosé all day!
The Wolffer Estate Vineyard is all about the rosé in the summer. Stop by for a winery tour, a tasting, or even wine classes on the grounds.
Recently the vineyard opened the Wolffer Kitchen, found in Sag Harbor, which specializes in Mediterranean flavors with an American twist. Of course, there’s a plethora of wines on the menu, most of which hail from Long Island.
Visit Pike Farms Farmstand
The Hamptons love their local produce, and the freshest veggies and fruits of them all can be found at Pike Farms, home to 65 acres in and around Sagaponack.
Farmer Jim Pike grows arugula, broccoli, eggplant, leeks, muskmelons, squash, zucchini—the list goes on and on. Pike doesn’t advertise much— he lets the heaps of heirloom tomatoes and corn cobs speak for themselves.
Back to Topping Rose for Dinner
Top off your wonderful weekend with an intimate and classy farm-to-table dinner at the Topping Rose’s own Restaurant. The menu is highly celebrated, and folks drive all the way from out of state to sample the dishes served here.
The Rose’s beautiful on-site farm provides many herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Don’t forget to order dessert—can anyone say brioche doughnuts?
