I’m sure solo travellers run into this all the time, but what is the best way to capture the moment when you’re by yourself? Too many selfies, not enough scenery!

Great question Lauren! Here are some tips for how I get photos of myself when traveling solo:
Get a camera with WiFi: I travel with a Fujifilm X-T1. Many camera models now feature WiFi which works with an app for your phone. Basically, you can link your phone and camera together via the camera WiFi, and use the app as a remote control for your camera.
Use a Tripod: For serious photographers, it’s best to bring a tripod so you can set up your camera wherever you go. By using a tripod with a camera with WiFi, you can get some great shots. I use a Manfrotto compact tripod.
Get a selfie stick: These definitely don’t make you look super cool, but a selfie stick allows you to take awesome photos of yourself with either a phone or a GoPro.
Get a GoPro: Another great camera for shooting yourself is a GoPro, because of the wide angle lens, you can typically hold out the camera and snap yourself without having to use a tripod.
Shoot on burst mode: One of the best ways to capture yourself on camera is to shoot on burst mode. This setting will have your camera take a series of photos (you set the # of shots and # of seconds) so you can move around and get a few different looks without having to click the shutter each time.
Don’t be shy: Sometimes, you just need to ask a stranger to shoot it for you. Don’t go handing your camera off to just anyone, but it pays to let your guard down and ask. Sometimes setting up the frame and having them hold still while you run back into the shot helps. Not everyone knows how to take a good photo!

Do you just use the default lens with the Fujifilm or do you use another one or multiple lenses?
