I am traveling from the US (Charleston, SC…I know, such a small airport to be flying from). I am looking to travel for a week this Fall/Winter to Europe. I will be traveling with my boyfriend (he has never been out of the country). I fell in love with Madrid when I was there years ago. I was thinking of either Spain, Italy, or Germany…what are your thoughts on budget travel during that time of year to those places? Which would you choose? Thanks so much! I’ve read so many of your blogs!

Most countries in Europe are going to be more-expensive destinations, however you can cut costs to travel for very inexpensive. It helps that you’ll be sharing some costs with your boyfriend. Fall is off-season so accommodation prices will be cheaper– Spain and Italy just have a special place in my heart.
However, I’d definitely consider a South America or Southeast Asia destination if you’re really trying to stick to a budget! 🙂
